My Students

I teach at a rural elementary school in Central Florida. I am fortunate enough to work with a diverse group of students who present me with new experiences every day! My students come from a variety of social/emotional, economic, and behavioral backgrounds. My students come to school every day eager to learn and become leaders.

Through empowerment, my students are able to take ownership of their feelings, goals, and learning in ways that will enrich their educational experience for the rest of their lives!

In our classroom, I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, alternative seating, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met in the manner most conducive to their learning style. Each child is an individual with amazing potential waiting to be unlocked!

My Project

Our learning environment is set up with tables rather than desks. This classroom set up encourages both teamwork and collaboration. Unfortunately, the one downfall of this is there is no storage for essential student supplies when they are working at their seats. Additionally, now that we are halfway through the school year some of our supplies are running low.

The supplies included in this project will help my students store their computers at their seats when they are not in use, give them easier accessibility with their mice while working, and provide them with supplies to enrich their learning environment.

All of the supplies in this project will be used in my classroom to provide students with materials for success. The students get so excited when their work is printed on bright colorful papers! The erasable pens are a huge hit in the classroom right now as well! I will use the laminator and command strips to create materials for the students that can be re-used or hung up in the classroom for reference.
