This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what laptops looked like 13 years ago? We have one! We are asking for help in replacing our elderly and lovable laptop and giving us the opportunity to work with current software.

Our students are an enthusiastic group of 5th grade students who come from very diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

They attend an urban public school that is small in population and does not receive large funding. Our school is identified as Title I and Title III. We have 9 different languages/cultures represented in our class. Our students are excited about learning and eager to approach challenges. Our class is a group of dedicated learners with special needs and bilingual challenges, along with gifted and highly-gifted abilities.

My Project

Having a current laptop will enable our students to access websites faster. It will allow them the opportunity to work on projects and save them so they can revisit and continue to work deeper by editing and adding material. It will give them access to current programs that will assist them in creating movies, animation and power points. It will also provide them access to the Common Core Standards sessions and videos which we cannot load and access now.

Your donations toward a laptop will be a benefit to our students and it will give them a main computer that is compatible with current technology.

Our laptop is 13 years old and cannot hold updated software or save their projects. It is not compatible with any new devices. Your donations will benefit a wonderful group of students that would benefit from access to a laptop and all of its possibilities as well as a computer that can store their projects for continuous visits.
