My 5th grade ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) students are ready to virtually face each and every day with excitement. My class consists of Special Education students, ENL (Students learning English for the first time) students of all levels, most of which have recently arrived in New York City and a few general education students. All of my students love to learn and many of them are kinesthetic or visual learners.
I want to give each of my students the foundation that they need so that they can aspire to be anything that they want to be and overcome any obstacles or challenges they may face along the way during these uncertain times.
My Title I school in Flushing, Queens has been working on social-emotional wellness by implementing Ruler. We recognize the importance of being mentally and emotionally healthy by connecting with one another.
My 5th graders and future students will greatly benefit from your help by allowing them to receive the materials that they need in order to be successful.
My Project
We use technology on a daily basis. There is a shortage of available devices due to the schools sending them home for students to be able to learn remotely from home. My students need efficient feedback on their virtual learning, and a MacBook Air will help make this possible. The MacBook will allow me to use and create Google Docs, Presentations, PDF Documents, Zoom, and so much more for my students to facilitate their learning process. I will be able to better able to interact with my students throughout this pandemic.
My current laptop is running old technology that is no longer supported by most programs.
My computer freezes and sometimes needs to be restarted in order for my amazing 5th graders to be able to see me. This MacBook Air will be life-changing, and make my lessons even more fun and interesting. Whether I am teaching from home or from school I spend a lot of time preparing creative and exciting lessons for my students.
My class is amazing, and they are really persevering though this pandemic. I just want to be able to give them everything and anything I can to help them be as prepared for middle school as possible. Thank you for any help that you can provide us!
