This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students consist of children from a low socioeconomic background. They are lovely, motivated and respectful children that are enthusiastic about learning. Specifically, I teach Social Studies to students from grades K-5. Since I am the only Social Studies teacher in the school, I frequently do not get to teach every class in the school. Our school has a population of over 750 students.

Engaging my students through my pedagogy is my main goal.

I have many students that are English Language Learners and/or not auditory learners. They thrive and get engaged in my lessons through my tactful use of relevant video clips and images. Video clips, Powerpoint presentations, educational websites and images are also effective in engaging my Special Education students.

My Project

I have a MacPro laptop right now, but it has lines running down its screen, has an unusable USB holder and is making a noise. I have been told that the fan is going. It shut off sometimes in the middle of a lesson. I have come to rely a great deal on my laptop and I have so much information on the laptop. I just want to get through the year. Luckily I only have about 7 weeks left for this year. The Mac Pro lap top has been a blessing as a classroom tool. The children have enjoyed my lessons so much more because of it. It has also been a very simple laptop to use.
