This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a Title 1 school in Staten Island, NY. This year I have an ICT class. Which means half of my class has IEPs. In addition many of my students are also English Language Learners. My students are hard workers who truly push themselves to do their very best. However, often they don't have all the supplies and materials they need to succeed in school. Due to budget cuts, my school is not always able to provide classrooms with extras, but I want my students to have it all.

My Project

My students are full of energy, and ready to learn. I have often heard, technology is the key to the future. Since our laptop stopped working we are time traveling backwards.

With this laptop, we will be able to use our Smartboard, again.

Our Smartboard connects to a laptop and a projector to make a large interactive touch screen computer. This technology makes the one computer accessible to all of my students. Before our laptop broke, we used our Smartboard for the majority of our activities. We played interactive learning games as a class, we could share our writing, and work together to solve math problems. My students are now having to complete these activities that used to be fun and exciting, by merely using pencil and paper.
