This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My student is identified as having a learning disability and requires individualized/group assistance. We are located in a district considered below poverty level with an enormous amount of minority and bilingual students. Our school is located in New York.
Children with special needs require individualized and group help to assist them with dealing with their learning disabilities.
Technology has shown, when used correctly, to improve scores as well as self-esteem. It's hard enough dealing with a disability, and now with the added pressure of trying to keep up academically, our students need as much support as possible. Will you help me get these wonderful students caught up with their peers?
My Project
My student needs one very affordable laptop computer to be able to use in school and home to complete projects, slide shows, research projects requiring Internet use and for learning to type. This student is more comfortable with typing than handwriting reports. My student is focused and motivated to learn as many programs as possible to become proficient in those applications and become college ready. Without a computer to use at home and school, it greatly limits the ability of the student to complete the necessary work needed to pass middle school academic courses.
We all can agree that computers are necessary in our technology based world and the more we help build our students skills using computers, the better their outcome. Will you help support this cause?
We are requesting an affordable laptop computer to continue helping our special needs student with gaining a laptop to access the technology needed to enhance their assignments, reinforce research skills, and access word processing applications.
Having a learning disability is already a challenge. Having this affordable laptop will assist this student with the work, organization skills and being responsible. Every student needs a computer this day and age. Will you help support this cause?
