This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students face the challenges of poverty on a daily basis. We are located in the southernmost region of the United States and live in one of the poorest counties in the country. These students, who wake up every morning wanting to learn despite the difficulties that they face at home, are who inspired and motivated me to post a project on DonorsChoose. I am honored and blessed to serve them and to be part of their lives. This is why reaching out to you is the least I can do to help them improve and be able to reach and experience the same opportunities that others have in our country.

My students manage to always have a smile and care for each other as much as possible every single day.

My Project

I invite you to donate to this project! Students would be getting lap desks that they can use to be closer to the board while copying. At this age, this is the most important skill that they must learn.

They love being able to come up to the front and work on the two lap desks that I have.

Unfortunately, I cannot afford to buy more for them at this time. This resource will help improve their academics in all subjects.
