Lap Desks for Learners

Help me give my students lap desks so they can comfortably work independently away from their desks. They love being able to spread out and find their own space to be focused, hard-working and creative.

My Students

As a teacher in a school that serves students in Pre-Kindergarten through third grade with different learning styles and levels, it is difficult to actively engage all students. They also have a wide variety of interests from sports to science to animals. They are all bright, capable students that come from many different backgrounds and homes.

My students love to read, write, and investigate with a feeling of independence and comfort.

These students also enjoy practicing new skills using engaging books, materials and technology. With the assistance of these positive and meaningful learning experiences, students will strive to reach academic excellence and become indepedendent thinkers and doers.

My Project

These lap desks will help my students stay in their own space while working away from their desks. They enjoy finding a good spot where they can read and write easily. This will give them comfort and ease to be creative with all their materials organized and with them.

The students would love to have the opportunity to choose flexible seating that allows them a hard surface to work on and a place to keep their materials.

Students will be able to have their very own lap desk to use each day! Children feel more successful when they have different options in the classroom. With these new lap desks, students have the ability to create their very own organized space just for them.

This type of seating encourages students to choose not only comfortable seating, but also seating that provides the best opportunity to enhance learning in the classroom.
