This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a third-grade inclusive ENL teacher (teaching English as a new Language) within a Title I school. All my students are ELL (English language learners). The students I serve are on a wide range of academic levels in reading and math. The students also have acquired different levels of proficiency in the English language. I try to support my students language and academic abilities in any way possible.
In my classroom I also try to instill that success is not being the best, but rather being the best that they can be.
My Project
These resources will help my students to develop their language skills in different ways. I want to engage my English Language Learners with digital and non-digital resources to support their different learning styles.
These resources will help my students to increase their learning opportunities.
I like to provide different fun activities for students to develop their language skills (writing, speaking, listening, and reading). The language center kits will provide my students with extra support in a different interactive way when working within centers. I also use a lot of different apps to help my students develop their language. My students use translation apps to help them translate their home language into English whether it be verbally or written language. The use of headphones with microphones will help students utilize these apps when they are fluent in their language verbally but unable to read or write in their home languages. It can also aid in their comprehension of lectures. Students can hear lectures in English and have apps repeat directions/instructions in their native language.
I try to provide every opportunity for my students to learn. I want to give every students I teach access to every and any learning opportunity.
