Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom is comprised of 25 eager-to-learn Kindergarten students. Kindergarten is the foundation of their learning. My goal is to help these students build and develop the basic skills they will need as they begin their careers as students.
My students are English Language Learners many of which are coming to the country for the first time.
It is my job to teach them to read, write, problem-solve, and how to speak the English language.
My goal for these sight word journals is to help my students with beginning writing. Each of these journals has a sentence starter, a tool used in writing for emergent writers as well as with English Language learners. Through the use of these structured sentences, my students will learn that words have meaning. In addition to learning to write, the students can use these journals to illustrate a sentence.
