Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am opening up a brand new classroom for kindergarten students with autism. Since this program has been just been added many of the supplies needed cannot be transferred from the previous year.
My students have difficulty with language and rigidity in their food intake. It is difficult for them to break regular routines but by incorporating a play-based approach many skills may be achieved.
I have already furnished the classroom with a plastic play kitchen (minus the refrigerator)but need the food and dishes to put into it. I will use these items to help develop language, incorporate communication between peers, exposing them to various foods and working on life skills to make them more independent.
Your help will make it possible for my students to grow in so many areas. They will learn to use effective communication and become a little more independent. You will be helping the teachers, children, and parents celebrate the small successes that are much harder for my students with autism to attain. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
