Help me give my students access to custom digital material by providing a "language learning" laptop dedicated to creating videos, images, and interactive activities to help hearing students learn how to communicate with their deaf peers.
We have a population of students who are eager to learn how to communicate with their deaf peers. Our sign club is now online and I create custom digital material to keep the interest of our young learners. Some of the digital items I’ve created and need to maintain include an “app” that houses the video curriculum for our first year students, GIFs to show students specific sign language parameters when signing, pixel art puzzles, and interactive slides (i.e. drag and drop activities).
A "language learning" laptop will 1) allow me to continue making sign language videos for hearing students to study and become more fluent when communicating with their deaf peers, 2) add video graphics to make videos accessible for our deaf students, and 3) provide the portability needed to provide timely and relevant responses to students.
