This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are bilingual students new to the country. They come from Spanish speaking countries. Their parents brought them here to have a better life than they could have had in their country. Education is the path that will lead them to that better life. My student's parents many didn't get the opportunity to have an education past the primary grades. Therefore as a teacher, it is my responsibility to give them the best resources they can have to allow them to reach their full potential within the year and prepare them for the next.
My Project
The resources, materials, and supplies in this project are important because they will help them learn the letters in different ways. The journals will help my students express themselves and start the writing learning process in a developmentally appropriate way. The playdough mats will help students who are kinesthetic learners and need to touch things to learn better the letters. The paint and scratch paper will allow different methods of expression and learning the letters. In Kindergarten children still need movement and I believe in providing different ways of teaching a concept.
