Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from high poverty and low income backgrounds. They don't get many opportunities that a lot of other kids might get. They are hardworking students just with a few more obstacles to climb.
I want to provide them with many opportunities, experiences, and the tools needed to be successful regardless of the environment that they are in.
My school does its best to provide the students with what they need, but cannot always meet the demands. We are challenged to bridge the gaps that our students may have.
My Project
I would love for my students to have their own letters to build words and to have access when we are doing letter recognition games. I teach kindergarten, which is a foundation grade. We develop those skills needed to be successful scholars.
Fluency and phonics is the foundation for every subject.
If a student doesn't receive a solid foundation, that can have a negative impact on their education. We as educators set the tone for life long learners. I work daily on helping students gain that solid foundation. It is my responsibility to foster, enhance and shape those delicate minds.
