My Project

I work for an inner-city school in Cincinnati, Ohio. Our students are highly creative and outgoing. My students all have speech and language needs. Their needs range from learning to communicate their wants and needs through Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) or verbally to working on complex grade-level language skills. I currently have 70 students with speech and language needs, so it takes a wide range of materials to work on their goals! For example, the microphone will be used in my 4th grade /r/ sounds group to help them hear and analyze their /r/ pronunciation through an iPad app. The critical car garage, lock puzzle, and recordable buzzers will be used in the Preschool Autism classroom to motivate and encourage early communication skills.
