Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I support a diverse group of students with exposure to multi-lingual home environments. Several of these students are working on decoding, comprehension, and literacy skills. All still require significant support to respond to questions in oral and written form. Several are kinesthetic learners.
While I use a wide variety of teacher-made materials, I would like to expand our classroom resource section to include manipulatives and materials such as board games for comprehension and expressive language skill development.
These resources target auditory/listening skills related to orally presented stories, sequencing logical events, organizing key events of a story, and explicit grammar instruction.
