Laminating sheets play a crucial role in the development of light tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) boards and materials. These sheets are used to enhance the durability, longevity, and usability of AAC devices, particularly for individuals who rely on low-tech solutions for communication. By applying laminating sheets to printed boards, symbols, or pictures, the materials become more resistant to wear and tear, moisture, and damage from frequent handling. This is particularly important for AAC users, who often engage with their communication boards on a daily basis in diverse environments. The laminated surface ensures that the visuals remain clear and intact, supporting users in expressing their needs and thoughts with ease. Furthermore, laminating sheets can help reduce glare, improving visibility and readability for users with varying levels of vision or lighting conditions. In addition to their practical benefits, laminated boards are lightweight and easy to carry, making them a portable and cost-effective AAC solution.
