This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school educates, inspires and nurtures 800 students who face challenges both inside and outside the classroom. Our school is located in the poorest congressional district in the country and 99% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch, 20% of our students are students with disabilities and 14% are English Language Learners. Our students love coming to school and are eager to learn and engage with their teachers. Our goal is to challenge each student with creative, engaging lessons and meaningful lessons.
My Project
In our ICT classroom, we will use the laminating machine to create durable labels and visuals to aid in children's understanding of routines and procedures. Our laminated classroom labels will create a literacy rich environment. The laminated visuals will scaffold learning and provide added understanding and meaning especially for our English Language Learners. We will create alphabet, phonics and math cards for fun, hands on games and activities for learning centers. Each student will have his own set of sight word cards which will laminate and place them on a ring.
Our classroom laminating machine will preserve printed resources and reduce our need to make additional copies or reprint essential learning resources throughout the year.
