My Project
My chemistry students generally have had little or no experience conducting chemistry labs. They, however, are not real excited about mixing lemon juice and baking soda. They want to experience something more exciting. Explosions and colors and transformations are the types of things which garner their attention and draw them to chemistry.
Help give young Lakota Chemists a rewarding and unforgettable chemistry experience by providing them with safety goggles, an electronic balance, sodium meral, sulfur, iodine, zinc dust, crucibles and a pair of crucible tongs.
If you do this, their interest level in chemistry will literally explode and their enthusiasm wiil be present all year long.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
