About My Students

Yashira, also know as "Yoshie" to her sisters in softball, has been team captain of the illustrious Lady Tigers for the past two years. She is the epitome of determination both in the classroom and on the field. Yoshie is a leader in all that she does and created this project to help her team.

We had such a great softball season this past year full of tears and joy! We finally made it to the playoffs only to lose by one run in the very last inning. Throughout all our games, my girls played hard with determination and dedication. Unfortunately, that vigorous effort took a toll on our softball equipment, specifically our softball gloves which are falling apart. Knowing that this is her last year as a Lady Tiger, Yoshie wants to win! Understandably, we cannot win with the current state of our gloves.

New gloves will give all our girls the opportunity to practice catching and throwing skills while using their own gloves instead of sharing. All the girls will be able to participate in the necessary drills in order to become fierce competitors. With every Lady Tiger having their own glove, our girls will improve their catching skills in a collaborative effort to become true champions!

In Their Own Words

My name is Yoshie and I am the team captain of the Lady Tigers. This year will be my last year as a Lady Tiger. We came so close to winning the softball championship and now our gloves are falling apart. Some girls cannot afford to buy new gloves because they are expensive. Coach Astacio has done so much already so I knew I can help. My goal is to replace our broken gloves with new ones so that my sisters in softball have something to catch with.

With my teacher's help, I will be the leader that I've always been. The girls look to me for advice and since I am graduating this year, I want to prove to them that this team will always mean the world to me. I will do everything I can to make sure this team is successful. I will tell everyone to help fund this project if they want to see the Lady Tigers as softball champions!

The obstacle of not having enough gloves for the whole team will be solved. Girls will not have to wait on the side until someone else is finished practicing. We can all practice together as a team!
