My Project

I teach an amazing group of curious, hands-on learners who come to class each day with big questions and an eagerness to explore the world around them. Many of my students come from low-income households, but what they may lack in resources, they more than make up for in passion, resilience, and creativity. They light up when they get the chance to experiment, build, or test their ideas—and I want to help them feel like true scientists every time they step into our classroom.

This project will give my students the opportunity to see themselves as scientists, not just act like them.

With individual lab coats and safety goggles, each student will not only be protected during experiments, but will feel empowered and professional, ready to dive into the scientific process. These items will create a sense of identity and pride in their work, helping to break down barriers that can make science feel out of reach.

My goal is to increase student engagement, deepen their connection to science, and foster a classroom culture where exploration and discovery are safe, exciting, and inclusive. With your support, we’ll transform our space into a true science lab where every student can shine.
