My Students
Asking testable questions and collecting data is essential to the AP Environmental Science curriculum. My students need to get outdoors, ask questions and learn to solve problems that will enable them to make intelligent decisions about the future of the planet.
My students are a fairly diverse population of learners in a rural Wisconsin community.
They are truly nice kids who are willing to help their neighbors and each other. Our students are inventive, concerned, passionate and talented. The teachers are dedicated, and extremely hardworking. We work together to generate good citizens for the future.
My Project
The resources I am requesting are the basics for an AP Environmental Science Lab course. The students will have hands on experience with real world science experiments which will aid them, not only in doing well on the AP exam, but give them the experience they will need to succeed in college lab courses. For example, some of the biggest items I am requesting are Carolina Lab Packages for AP Environmental Science. This package includes all resources for important APES labs that will take place throughout the year, from Population growth studies, water quality analysis, soils and atmospheric sciences. I have also included materials that I will need to complete the activities in the resource manual that accompanies the text book I will be using. Having all of the supplies and equipment will ensure success for my students, and for me as their teacher.
