This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Our school is located in the heart of Central Florida, just minutes from the airport.
A majority of the parents work full-time, sometimes more than one job, in this tourism-based area. The families at our school certainly demonstrate what a hardworking community truly is.
Each child in our school absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
The lab coats will be used in our our elementary school science lab. Students will be able to wear the lab coats while participating in various hands-on labs and activities throughout the school year.
We study an array of different topics such as plants, animals, the water cycle, rocks, and even the human body.
Having the lab coats will not only keep the students safe, but it will also enhance their experience of being a scientist in training. Students will be able to bring science to life while wearing their lab coats which will engage them in their learning and lead them to student success!
