My Students

Our elementary is a school of 450 dynamically diverse students who speak over 20 languages and come from 5 of the 7 continents! We have a large English Language Learner population with many students whose family are refugees. Unfortunately, these students tend not to have as rich a library of fiction and non-fiction text at home as other more affluent households may have. Creating a print-rich environment that they can transport home will bring the excitement for learning from our classroom to anywhere they choose to take their magazine!

These children deserve the BEST educational experiences available to make sure they are college and career ready!

We can do that by increasing their exposure to engaging and exciting non-fiction text!

My Project

By having lab aprons, goggles, and petri dishes we will be able to safely look at organisms and phenomena in the Science Lab. Students enjoy hands-on learning and these items will bring us much closer to our goal! Our older students would love to be able to observe the behaviors of termites or both the beneficial or harmful growth of bacteria in our petri dishes. All of our students would be able to safely observe states of matter and chemical changes using the lab aprons and safety goggles. We are grooming young scientists and engineers with your help. Please fund our project!
