My Students
My students are smart, eager, and responsible fourth graders. They want to engage in serious research and they want to write and publish articles and reports about what they learn.

My students are amazing and definitely see the world in a sunny, colorful way! We are a fourth grade class, so most of my students are nine and ten years old. Our school is an inquiry-based IB school in a vibrant urban neighborhood. The students are so serious and so creative and hard-working when they seek out information for their projects. They have been using computers for research since they began school, because paper-based resources are so quickly outdated. These students rely on computers on a daily basis and they are committed to producing quality work. These Chromebooks will help them accomplish their goals.
My Project
For the next year, with 32 students, we have only six computers in the classroom, so we are limited to sharing our computers on a greater than 1/5 ratio. This doesn't work! I would love to have at least eight classroom Chromebooks to give the students the flexibility to use the computer the same way they use books and paper. I don't want them to interrupt their work because they lack a resource!
My students are responsible and are able to use computers for research, composing documents, keeping notes, and collaborating with other students in real time.
They absolutely know how to use these resources independently. We would love to have at least eight Chromebook laptops in our classroom so that class time is maximized and students have the resources they need. This project will bring us up to eight Chromebooks!
