Help me give my students LEGO sets, books, UNO games, and other resources to practice math, reading, and social-emotional skills within themselves and their peers.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My first grade scholars are rambunctious and eager to learn. They have a positive attitude on a daily basis and strive to do their best in all subject areas, English Language Arts, and Mathematics while maintaining their social-emotional health! Covid-19 has truly impacted scholar's learning, widening the achievement gap. School closures and social isolation have affected all students, particularly those living in poverty. Instruction has been uneven during the pandemic, as some students have been able to participate fully in online learning while others have faced obstacles, such as lack of internet access, that have hindered their progress. Most of my scholars' favorite subject is math. They specifically love working at our block center using the LEGO people and brick set.
Donations to this project will help my students have creative play, interact with other students with these LEGOs, and work on their fine motor skills too.
I have requested child-size face masks because my students often need new face masks during the school day because their current one breaks or gets dirty.
