This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project is intended to serve the local community and provide the students with the opportunity to perform community service within their surrounding area.
The snacks and candy will be distributed in grab-and-go snack bags to address food insecurity, as it is a real issue in our local community..
The students will create a flyer to make the community aware of the event and snack distribution as well as the description of snack and candy treats, such as cookies, potato chips, and candy. The event will be held during the weekend of our annual spring carnival in June, where students and families within the community attend. My students will create kindness bags that we plan to give out during our spring carnival. These bags will spread kindness and combat hunger throughout the community and the school. It will teach my students the value of giving, the importance of making a difference, and allow them to experience how it feels when you give back to other people.
