It is one thing to prioritize STEAM instruction in our learning environments and another to provide opportunities for students to apply that learning to real world scenarios that have relevance for them. The K'NEX kits requested here support key areas of a student's developmental growth like fine motor skills, manual dexterity, and spatial relations as well as inspire children to dream of bigger STEM futures for themselves as they unleash their creativity and problem-solving skills.
These rod and connector construction sets provide an incredibly detailed and fun way for students to build motorized and moving structures far beyond what they may have dreamed was within their abilities.
The use of the kits will be aligned with their science units by grade so as to give hands-on experience with the concepts learned in class. They will be housed in our library makerspace to make them readily available to the our whole community.
