KNEX Vehicles for STEM Teams!

Help me give my students an amazing STEM experience! Each student will work in a team of 3 to create a vehicle out of the K'NEX pieces that will race against other teams.

My Students

What is a black hole? How does solar energy work? How do the colors in light bend? My students are always asking thoughtful questions and they are hungry to find the answers!

In my class, it is exciting to see the curiosity my students have about the world around them and their love of science concepts.

My greatest joy is watching their eyes light up when they learn about or discover an important science topic that they were unfamiliar with before...that lightbulb moment is priceless! STEM experiments, reading about STEM topics, and using hands-on materials involving STEM captures the spirit and excitement of all my 3rd grade students!

My Project

How fun would it be to work in a team of 3 to create a FAST vehicle? Having these K'NEX vehicle building sets would help solidify some important science concepts for my third grade students. How does friction affect the speed of the vehicle? Does the size of the wheels make a difference? How many times did you have to wind your rubber band to create more speed? Did your vehicle spin or travel in the wrong direction? WHY?

There is great learning and discovery with these amazing hands-on experiments!

Forces and motions are all around us! What a wonderful way for students to explore, create, test, collect data, AND have a great time in the process!
