I have amazing, creative, and hard-working fourth graders. More than half of my students come from lower socioeconomic homes. Many of my kids are ESL, and many more qualify for special education. I have the best students, and I want to give them the best! Because of the daily obstacles my students face, some of them find education very challenging. Many come to school without their basic needs being met, so it is hard for them to focus on math, science, or reading. I try to think outside of the box so that my kids are engaged and want to learn.
Our class will need some basic supplies to start the school year with.
We will need a lot of Kleenex tissues. Typically, our class goes through at least a box every couple of days and during flu season we go through several boxes each week. We also need some watercolors for a variety of projects that we will do throughout the year. Finally, we will need some pencils and reusable dry-erase pockets to complete assignments and activities.
