My Project
Students will design their own kites. This will solidify their understanding of shapes and their attributes. Students will fly kites and see the patterns in the sky, which is a 1st grade science standard and of course, we want to connect it all with literature. Students will take home a book and a kite! This cross curricular activity will help students learn in a fun and engaging way.
My students are from a Title One school, with one third of my students ML, multi-language learners.
Most don't have the opportunity to fly kites and purchase books. This would be very memorable for them.
