Kitchen Play in PreK

My Project

PreK is the beginning of a student's educational career. It is where they are first exposed to many new things and where their confidence in school first begins to form. In PreK, natural curiosities and quickly expanding brains make children open to new and exciting things.

There are many benefits to kitchen play in a PreK classroom.

It allows for role play, giving students the opportunity to express themselves. It helps widen their vocabulary. They learn the names of new foods, as well as verbs such as cook and stir, and opposites such as hot and cold. Kitchen play encourages social development because students are cooking for each other and acting out different scenarios. The benefits are endless. This play food set wold be a wonderful addition for my PreK students. Thank you so much for any donation you are able to give.
