This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is in a low-income/high poverty rural community. I teach in a self-contained Exceptional Student Education classroom to students with intellectual disabilities and language difficulties in Kindergarten through 5th grade. They are a wonderful and diverse group who deserve the best that life can offer them. While all children are special in their own way, these kiddos are truly inspiring!

I want to give each of my students every opportunity to reach their fullest potential.

I want my students to have fun while they are learning. I feel truly blessed to be able to witness them light up as they learn about themselves and the world around them.

BrainPop Junior is an engaging resource full of videos, lesson plans, quizzes, and games for all academic subjects, as well as social emotional and cultural topics. The videos deliver higher level subject matter in a way that young students understand. This will assist me with filling in my students' background knowledge of specific topics as I introduce new lessons. My students work on social emotional and independent functioning skills as part of their curriculum. BrainPOP Junior helps them to achieve these goals.
