The goal at my school is for every student to be reading at or above grade level when they are promoted to the next grade.
I am a first grade teacher of 18 students in a low socio-economic school district in Oklahoma.
My students strive to do their best, but the truth is, my district has been faced with many cut backs and are unable to purchase needed reading resources for my students.
My Project
I am requesting the "King Series" kindergarten and first grade reading collections that I will be sharing with the other classrooms at my school. I have also asked for labels so that I can level each book according to guided reading levels. Reading is the "key" to a successful high school career and college career, and I want everyone of the students at my school to have that "key" available for them to use.
My school district is unable to purchase reading resources for my students.
The goal is for all students to be fluent above grade level readers when they leave our school. I need the Kindergarten and first grade reading "King Series" collections to use in my classroom during guided reading lessons.
