This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students learn best when they are fully engaged! My students thrive in a classroom environment that accesses their multi-modalities. They learn the most in a hands-on approach to learning. One of the best ways for my students to learn is to engage in the lesson by various methods.
My students are exceptional students!
They are in special education because they mostly have learning disabilities. They are enthusiastic learners and are ready for a challenge! I want to offer many ways for my students to stay engaged in my class.
My Project
These materials are a perfect way for my kinesthetic and tactile learners to engage in active learning that is fun. My students are full of energy. In order for my students to be engaged, they need high interest preferred activities to look forward to. The classroom games and activity board games must be rigorous and spark interest in my students.
The games and activities will be used to support learning in the classroom.
The Sight word, Letter Recognition and Math games and activity board games will be used as a supplement and to reteach literacy and math skills. The blocks, play dough and kinesthetic sand will be used to help my students with their fine motor skills and their tactile learning, as well as spark their creativity. The play dough and kinesthetic sand will be used to roll and for letters to make words, shapes and numbers. Students will use these materials in small group rotations. The materials serve two important purposes: engaging and supporting the active learning in the classroom.
