Kindness Stones

Help me give my students a craft that will connect to the story The Stone Garden, which teaches them to work together and spread kindness. After reading the story, each student will get two stones to decorate.

My Project

This project will give each student two stones to decorate. One for our school Kindness Garden and one to take home for their families.

The goal is for students to connect to the story The Stone Garden and understand the lesson of teamwork and kindness.

The story ends with a community working together to build a park that has kindness stones for the community. This will be wonderful for the students because while examining the story, they will also decorate stones like in the story!

They will use their creativity to design one for our kindness garden at school and add to an already established garden. The other they will design as a gift for their families. Decorating these kindness tones will make life connections to a story with a valuable lesson of spreading kindness in a community.
