This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Being mindful is something that is so important and having a student led project would truly be amazing for all to instill kindness in those around them. Our scholars will truly love this initiative of giving back. For this months character trait of kindness, I’d love for scholars to be able to promote kindness and mindfulness in our teacher-student resource center with stem activities, sand, supplies, coloring books, pencils, sound machines and more! During this month, we will have a community wide event inviting others to come test out our new mindfulness area. Not only will students do this, but they will also create baggies to give out to staff, students and community members! It will be a fun for all event!
This will truly be great and will benefit everyone school wide!
Having students learn leadership qualities, but also be able to give back is truly something we value on a day to day basis.
We will also be hosting a mindfulness night, where students will give out bags to community members as a community service event that will have an impact on students school wide. Together, we will empower scholars to not only be mindful but also meet the needs of those around us. Along with testing out our sand, coloring supplies, sound machines, STEM, we will have our scholars teach mindfulness strategies and coping!
Students will be making and creating based on the needs of a google survey.
