Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All children deserve to see themselves reflected in the stories they read. When children encounter characters who share their race, ethnicity, culture, or background, they feel a sense of belonging and validation. This representation fosters self-esteem and encourages a love of reading.
Diverse books provide a window into the lives of others, cultivating empathy, understanding, and respect for different cultures and experiences.
We are requesting your support in building a diverse and inclusive classroom library. Your generous donations will help us acquire books that feature characters from various backgrounds, celebrating the richness and diversity of our world. These books will not only enrich our students' reading experiences but also foster a sense of belonging and cultivate a deeper understanding of the human experience. We believe that access to diverse literature is essential for all children, and we are grateful for your support in making this a reality.
