Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At our school, we believe that kindness is the foundation of creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. We will bring a portable screen on wheels into our school community to foster more interactive, flexible, and compassionate learning experiences where students will be showcasing kindness presentations.
A portable screen on wheels will allow our students to showcase their ideas, share kindness messages, and collaborate easily, whether it's in small group discussions, presentations, or class-wide activities.
We are requesting pencils to help with the planning process.
When asking students to come up with kindness ideas, they came up with this student-led kindness idea that will reach all students school-wide.
A portable screen will provide opportunities for students to:
Share Kindness Campaigns: Display and discuss ways to show kindness, both inside the classroom and beyond. Students will present on topics such as stopping bullying, kindness, being inclusive, showing empathy. For kindness, students will then be on the lookout to show students exhibiting kind behaviors. This will have a ripple effect. They will encourage other students to use the screen to add to their kindness presentations. They will go into younger grades classrooms in the school community to teach the importance of being kind, where scholars can choose their acts of kindness as well.
We can easily move the screen around for small group projects, peer mentoring, or cross-grade collaborations, allowing students to teach and learn from each other, not just in the classroom, but school-wide. We will create a space for students to come together to discuss their feelings, exchange positive affirmations, and learn empathy through interactive content.
