This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are ready to take action and make a difference in our school community! Through our student-led kindness initiative, we aim to spread compassion and support to those in need. From crafting cards to organizing snack distributions to siblings and scholars in our lower house elementary school, our students are passionate about bringing positivity to the world.
However, we need a few supplies to make this happen.
We are requesting snacks to share with those we are serving and ink for printing the cards and materials that will help spread our message of kindness.
Snacks: pretzels, chips, gummies, pringles and all things kids love to foster kindness and show our scholars that it's important to give back before entering middle school. We need ink to print cards, posters, and other materials that will help us spread kindness, share our mission, and raise awareness. When delivering snacks, we will also print cards and posters to give the younger students in our school community.
When thinking of spreading kindness school and community wide, my scholars came up with this idea; to give back to our kindergarten and first grade classes in our school district before entering middle school to spread kindness district wide. We will also be focusing on spreading kindness community wide to families and siblings as well. With these materials, our students will be able to continue their acts of kindness, engage in meaningful service-learning experiences, and help others feel cared for and supported. The world can always use more kindness, and there’s no better time than now for students to learn the importance of helping others. By involving students in meaningful community outreach, they are not only learning about empathy, compassion, and leadership, but they are also making tangible differences in the lives of others.
