This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students want to make the world a kinder place—and they’re ready to lead the way. Through our student-led Kindness Campaign, they will take charge of planning and producing handmade cards, uplifting stickers, personalized posters, t-shirts, and thoughtful gifts using a Cricut machine. These creations will be shared with peers, staff, and members of the wider community to celebrate, support, and uplift others.

This project goes beyond crafting—it empowers students to become active changemakers.

They will brainstorm needs within the school and community, design items with inclusive and encouraging messages, and organize distributions during school events, appreciation weeks, and community outreach days. Whether it’s delivering cards to a local senior center or creating posters for school custodians, students will lead with empathy and creativity.

Many of my learners come from under-resourced backgrounds, yet they are deeply motivated to give back. This initiative gives them the opportunity to serve others while building skills in project management, digital design, teamwork, and public speaking. They’ll learn how to turn ideas into action—and how small acts of kindness can have a big impact.

We are requesting a Cricut machine along with essential tools like cutting mats, vinyl, and transfer tape to launch this campaign. With your support, students will take ownership of a service project that not only fosters social-emotional growth but also strengthens community bonds inside and outside our classroom. Together, we can make kindness something you can see, feel, and carry forward.
