My Project
I work in an alternative high school program. We have about 100 very diverse students who struggle academically, socially, and financially. Most of our students come from a trauma background and need support with group counseling, adult trust and care, as well as, food support. They do get free lunch and breakfast but sometimes, it's their only meal for the day.
We have opened a Kindness Closet to help our students have snacks to go home with and for basic hygiene needs, we are running out of snacks, socks, brushes/ combs, and deodorant.
These items are basic needs but to most of our student it is the last to get in their homes and weighs heavy on our students to look clean and kempt.
