Kindling a Love of Reading

Help me give my students Kindles to access a world of books beyond our classroom, because these will inspire a love of reading, offer new educational resources, and help them explore subjects while developing critical thinking skills.

My Project

I am incredibly inspired by my students' resilience, creativity, and their boundless enthusiasm for learning, even when faced with limited resources. Each day, they come to class ready to explore new ideas, ask thoughtful questions, and support one another in their educational journeys.

These Kindles will revolutionize the way my students engage with literature and information.

For example, a struggling reader can adjust the font size and use the built-in dictionary to build confidence and comprehension. A student with a passion for history can dive into countless primary source documents and biographies. Our science projects will come alive with interactive simulations and up-to-date research at their fingertips. Students who want to explore creative writing can instantly access a wealth of classic and contemporary literature to inspire their own storytelling.

Moreover, these Kindles will foster a more inclusive and equitable learning environment. Students who may not have access to a wide range of books at home will now have a portable library at their fingertips. This will level the playing field and ensure that every student has the opportunity to explore their interests, expand their knowledge, and reach their full potential. With your support, we can empower these bright young minds to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and engaged citizens of the world.
