Kindles to Electrify Our Readers

My students need 5 kindles to be able to enlarge the font size and have the story read a loud to them. This will help students of all abilities to read the same books.

My Students

In a world where there are so many challenges kids have to overcome, wouldn't it be wonderful to know we have done everything we can to help them succeed in reading? Having a kindle that can read aloud, or look up a word they don't understand will bring success in reading that much closer.

Here at CHIME we have students ranging in abilities from severely disabled to gifted all in one classroom.

Our community is full of kids who would rather help a friend out, than to be the first in line. With our wonderful community feeling where we all grow together, it is wonderful to be able to add tools to help ALL our students grow and learn. It would be so satisfying if a student could have their kindle read a loud to share their favorite part of the book the class is all reading together.

My Project

To add kindles to our school library would mean all students would be able to read books together as a class. With the abilities of the kindle to enlarge the text and to look up words for comprehension, the kindle would enable students to better see and understand what they are reading. It is also wonderful that it can read a loud to students while they follow along.

This project is so important to us because we know success in reading is the biggest motivator for wanting to read more.

Using a kindle as a tool to aid students will help them get the success needed to become the best readers they can be!
