My students need Amazon Kindle Fires to use during Differentiated Instruction for reading, using educational applications, and research. My students will use headphones to read independently and listen to audio for educational purposes.
I teach 4th grade scholars in the Miami, Florida area in a difficult neighborhood of extreme poverty. My students are bright, intuitive, and have a drive to succeed no matter their circumstances. My students attend one of the lowest achieving schools with little access and resources to this technological age we live in.
Literacy is a love me and my students share, and as a reading teacher I want to empower my students to foster a love of learning and the stamina to master reading!
My Project
My students will use these materials during Differentiated instruction, small group, enrichment, and social studies instruction. My students will use the Kindles to research for various projects during reading and social studies.
These Kindles will bridge the gap between technology and education by creating an engaging and interactive space where my students are free to explore.
Currently my students are researching Florida explorers for which they could benefit from having more outlets through technology.
My students will use these Kindles to read independently using Myon, An online digital library, in which students can listen to audio of books they choose and complete quizzes on comprehension.
Students will use the Amazon Kindle fires to read novels for novel studies in downloading Ebooks. During enrichment, small groups of students work to together to read novels and lead literature circles. Students will use the kindles as a platform for reading, discussing, and researching their novels and the different topics discussed using the kindle silk browser.
My students enjoy playing review games using the platform Kahoot which we will also be able to use on the kindles through collaborative groups.
I cant wait to find new and exciting ways to integrate these Kindles into my classroom! These kindles will motivate my students to
