My Students
Our school is a Title I School, located in a small, rural county. Our classrooms are filled with a diverse makeup of students that include English Language Learners, students with disabilities, and gifted students. Our students are very eager to learn, and they come to school excited for a new day. Most of our students come from low-income households, where there are limited budgets for school materials and supplies; however, their families are very supportive and very involved our school community!
My Project
Our students would love the opportunity to use Kindle Fires in the classroom! Many of them do not have access to technology, such as tablets, at home. School is often the only place where they get the opportunity to use technological devices. Our class is requesting five Kindle Fire tablets to supplement classroom instruction.
Kindle Fires would be an exciting way for our students to practice essential math skills, such as facts, time, and money.
Access to educational apps would provide a more engaging learning experience for students, while letting them have fun at the same time! The Kindle Fires would also allow for differentiation in the classroom by providing opportunities for remediation and acceleration. We are also requesting five kid-proof cases and screen protectors to protect the tablets while they are in use, as well as a charging station so they can be recharged at the end of each day.
