it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 7th grade readers are a vibrant group of learners who deserve a classroom as technologically savvy as they are! In addition to being a vital tool for teaching digital and media literacy, tablets in the classroom meet accommodations for students with special needs, develop language skills of English Language Learners, and provide extension for gifted students. The learning opportunities are nearly endless.
Learning needs for this generation are not met by the traditional technology offerings of most schools; with your help, we can change this for my students.
Any gift will have a significant impact on our ability to explore the world and develop empathy and cultural understanding from the (dis)comfort of our desks.
I serve a diverse population in which we have many different socioeconomic needs. Providing consistent technology to all students contributes to classroom equality, plain and simple. Similarly, my school's very strict technology policy prevents students from bringing their own phones, tablets, or computers from home. Without this funding, many of my students will have incredibly limited access to or education in wisely using technology.
My Project
My kids will do research projects, listen to audiobooks, have digital pen pals, extend their learning in areas they choose, and so much more if this project is funded. Groups of students will use these tablets each and every day in my classroom.

They will grow as empathetic young adults because of the global nature of our curriculum and instruction. Tablets enable them to read real articles about things really happening in the world that they seek out themselves. Self-regulated and informed about the world around them? In middle school??
