My students need three Kindle Fires to access learning programs and school required websites to help them be successful since many do not have internet at home.

My Students
My third-grade students are eager to learn. They are curious, creative, and have great imaginations even though we are a Title One school in a high poverty neighborhood.
School is a safe place and I do my best to make my classroom fun and exciting.
Most of my students live in public housing. Their neighborhoods are rough and school is a place for them to be safe. My class is mostly African American children who face a lot of challenges.
My job as a teacher is to help them overcome these challenges and become the amazing adults I know they can become.
My Project
I am requesting Kindle Fires for my students to be able to go on Virtual Field Trips to Ancient Civilizations like Greece, Egypt, Rome, and China.
Having these Kindle Fires in my classroom would allow my students small group access to books and information from the world outside their neighborhood that many would not have otherwise.
The students would be able to use these Fires to access websites our school district has purchased and we are required to use. In addition, they will use these tablets daily to read non-fiction books on topics of their choice to increase their vocabulary.
