My students need Kindle Fire tablets to utilize technology in all subjects!

My Students
Our class is one of a kind at our school. We are the only classroom with a 12:1:1 ratio (12 students, 1 teacher, 1 paraprofessional). Our students entered our program in kindergarten and have moved up together each year. This September they will enter the 3rd and 4th grades.
We have a unique group of English Language Learners who learn best through a variety of modalities-- tactile, kinesthetic, visual and auditory.
Most of the students in our class come from low-income households. Many of them do not have access to technology at home.
My Project
One of the things I love most about my job is providing my students with experiences and materials that they may not have access to at home. I would love to give my students the ability to interact with technology in the classroom. These materials would allow my students to learn in new and motivating ways.
The Kindle Fire tablets would be utilized in all areas of our school day including instruction and assessment.
There are many applications that can be integrated into each subject. For example, Go Math! (our classroom math program) has its own application that allows students to practice new skills. Scratch Jr. is a wonderful application that teaches students how to follow instructions and coding skills. Lastly, Reading A-Z has an online platform where students can log-in, read books at their independent reading level and answer comprehension questions to check their understanding.
Last year, our class received a Promethean Board from a technology grant. Adding Kindle Fire tablets would allow us to connect them to the Promethean Board and utilize interactive applications. Programs like Kahoot and Nearpod provide a platform for whole class instruction and assessment.
More than half of students from low‑income households
