My Students
I have been delighted with the most ambitious, hardworking, and persistent kindergartners in the Pacific Northwest. This unique bunch came together to create our integrated kindergarten program. This program is comprised of students with special needs and typically developing peers working together to navigate the wonderful land of kindergarten.
We are a community of thoughtful, intentional, and tolerant citizens who value and appreciate the individual needs of each person that walks through our door.
We are accomplishing more than academics, we are striving for loving and intellectual community members.
I am so thankful for my class, they are ready and eager for any challenge I bring forth. They explore, create, and engage in every activity. The smiles and laughter make each day worth it. Watching them grow and learn has been the highlight of my year.
My Project
Kindergartners love to wiggle and move. They need to be able to sit on the floor, move at their seat, have a way to use energy that is building inside them all while learning. Kindergartners will use these seating alternatives during independent learning, carpet time, reading, and more. I have requested wobble chair feet, wedge seats, and a carpet chair.
Sitting still and facing forward, silently on a rock hard chair is a thing of the past!
I have seen kindergartners grow into being their best self by allowing them more and more opportunities to take control of their learning and choose what feels right for them.
